Your AI. Your story. The right context.

The HexaQuill MCP Companion is designed to let compatible AI applications work with the novel you choose, without opening your whole computer or handing over control of your manuscript.

The MCP Companion is planned and is not available in the current HexaQuill release. Supported applications will be listed after compatibility and security testing.

MCP in plain English

A controlled doorway between your AI and your novel.

MCP stands for Model Context Protocol. It is a standard that lets an AI application request specific information or actions from another application.

With the planned HexaQuill Companion, your AI stays inside its official MCP-enabled application. HexaQuill keeps your novel files on your computer. The companion passes across only the chapter, selection, or Codex entry needed for the request.

Ask an AI to check Chapter 6 against your timeline. HexaQuill can provide that chapter and the approved Codex details, instead of forcing you to paste everything into a new chat.
What it can do

Better answers because your AI has the right material.

The first release is planned around focused reading and safe, reviewable suggestions.

CHAPTER CONTEXT

Read the chapter you choose

Share one chapter or your current text selection without exposing the rest of your library.

CONTINUITY

Check facts against your Codex

Give the AI access to approved characters, locations, lore, events, and worldbuilding when they matter.

FOCUSED HELP

Ask for summaries and story analysis

Request a chapter summary, timeline check, character review, or consistency report in your chosen AI application.

APPROVAL FIRST

Review edits before they land

Planned writing tools create proposed changes. You compare the original and suggested text before accepting anything.

How a request works

Four steps. You stay in charge.

01

Choose a novel

Open the project you want the companion to use.

02

Enable access

Start the local companion and connect a compatible AI application.

03

Make your request

Ask the AI to read approved material or prepare a suggestion.

04

Review the result

Accept or reject proposed changes inside HexaQuill.

Permission-based by design

Access without handing over your library.

The companion is planned as a local connection with narrow tools. It will not accept arbitrary file paths, run shell commands, or silently rewrite manuscript content.

Before access starts, HexaQuill shows a clear notice explaining that the AI application is a separate third-party service and asks you to confirm that you have the right to share the selected content.

What to expect

MCP connects applications. It does not replace them.

Compatible MCP applications

The conversation stays in the AI application you choose. HexaQuill provides controlled tools for reading approved story material and proposing changes.

Consumer subscriptions and APIs

An ordinary AI subscription does not automatically become API access inside HexaQuill. MCP support depends on the provider's official application and current feature support.

The provider's terms still apply

The AI provider may store, review, or use submitted content according to the terms and privacy settings you accept with that provider. Check its retention, training, security, and copyright rules before sharing your manuscript.

You choose what you are allowed to share

You are responsible for making sure you have the rights and permissions needed to send the selected manuscript content, personal information, or other protected material to the provider.

HexaQuill does not control an independent provider's systems or decisions. HexaQuill remains responsible for its own service where the law requires it. Read the full details in the Privacy Policy.

MCP questions

Before you connect.

Is the MCP Companion available now?

No. It is a planned Premium + MCP feature. HexaQuill will publish tested application support and setup instructions before release.

Will HexaQuill ask for my AI password?

No. HexaQuill will not request or store AI provider passwords, browser cookies, session tokens, or consumer subscription credentials.

Can the AI edit my novel automatically?

Planned writing tools will prepare proposed changes. You will review the original and suggested text before anything is applied.

Does the AI see every novel in my library?

No. The companion is planned to restrict access to the novel you selected and the material required for your request.

Which AI applications will be supported?

HexaQuill will list compatible MCP-enabled applications after testing. Compatibility may change when AI providers update their applications.

Who controls content after it reaches the AI provider?

The provider handles submitted content under its own terms and privacy policy. Review its retention, training, security, and copyright rules before connecting it. HexaQuill cannot control an independent provider's systems or decisions.
